Igmar Style floral statement wearable art — dimensional flowers and textile blooms

    Stories

    The Journal

Explorations of wearable art, maximalist fashion, the creative process, artistic transformation, and the philosophy behind making art you can wear. Written from the studio, shaped by real creative experience.

    Why the Journal Exists

Wearable art is still a relatively young discipline. Most people have never encountered a hat treated as a canvas—have never seen chains, jewelry, paint, textiles, and found objects composed into a sculptural wearable piece. The Journal exists to bridge that gap: to explain what wearable art is, how it is made, why it matters, and how it differs from the fashion accessories most people are familiar with.

The entries here are not generated for volume. They are written from genuine creative experience—reflecting Igmar's perspective, her philosophy, and the realities of working as an artist who creates one-of-one pieces by hand. When a new piece is created, when a material is reimagined, when a commission reveals something unexpected, the Journal is where that experience is shared.

Topics include the creative process behind wearable art, the philosophy of maximalism as a controlled artistic approach rather than visual chaos, upcycling as artistic reinterpretation (not a sustainability checkbox), styling wearable art in real contexts, behind-the-scenes glimpses of the studio, and reflections on the intersection of fashion and contemporary art.

If there is a topic you would like to see explored, reach out and contact Igmar. The Journal grows organically, shaped by what Igmar is creating and what readers want to understand.
